7 of the best long-wear lip tints - according to a Beauty Editor

Since the pandemic has left our lips covered and uncared for for so long, now is the perfect opportunity to invest on a spring/summer lip tint that won't rub off (facial covering or not!)

Want to maintain the colour of your lips longer? Hannah Martin, a well-known makeup artist, advises exfoliating your lips with a scrub (she makes her own using honey and sugar), followed by applying a balm. In order for it to be absorbed by the time I come to apply my lip colour, I do this at the beginning of my makeup procedure.

The majority of matte liquid lipsticks (also known as those with the longest wear time) start out feeling really creamy but quickly turn matte. Martin advises, "Blot with a tissue to ensure there is no excess product on the lips, and you're good to go!"

Martin applies translucent powder to set her lip makeup, an age-old method. Using a fluffy brush, "stipple powder directly onto the lips," she instructs. If you're worried about overdoing it, you might try brushing the powder through a single-ply tissue.

Even the simplest lip texture selection can be complex, raising so many concerns that it seems simpler to simply walk away from the purchase. Are mattes the only options for long-wear? Can I truly get vibrant colour from a nourishing balm? Are tints for the lips and cheeks worth the money spent? GAH!
